The Spectre of Wilfred Batty (2011)
consists out of a night-walk through the city of Ghent. During the performance the artist wears a striped animal skin and black make-up around his eyes. He carries a stereo-image viewer mounted on a tripod for the duration of the tour. During the walk the party visits five places throughout the city. At these stops the audience is invited to look into the stereo-viewer which shows an image of the exact same location but with a taxidermy specimen, covered with plastic, in it. At these locations the artist reads aloud a text describing several accounts of a foreign couple living in the city of Ghent.
